Display production – safe solution through partial automation
In display production, depending on the number of pieces and the complexity of the mould, many glues are applied by hand. Mechanical hotmelt guns are used for this, for example the new HB 225 or the HB 250 with hotmelt in stick form.
The limited open time of many hotmelt adhesives means that manual bonding would have to be done either in sections or on small areas.
Partially automated gluing is particularly recommended for larger areas or large stand displays. As shown in our video, an XY table can be used for this purpose.
The adhesive is applied with pinpoint accuracy via an application head. Good creep resistance and clean thread breakage are required to produce a workpiece that can be handled immediately.
Another advantage of this method is the reliable repeatability of the bonding and the quick change between different display shapes.
Display surfaces are often foiled or printed, so the choice of hotmelt adhesive should be tested and verified in our laboratory beforehand. For this purpose, the D3033 pressure-sensitive adhesive has proven its worth because of its optimised properties:
- Fast cohesion build-up
- Very good creep resistance
- Minimal thread pull
